Jack’s mum says thanks to Tayplay

Dear Editor, – I would like to say thank you to a local company called Tayplay based at Perth.

I live in Wigan in the North West of England and I am in the process of fundraising for my little boy Jack who has been diagnosed with autism. I am hoping to send him to a treatment centre in America called Son-Rise.

I have recently had a balloon launch at Jack's school to raise funds for his appeal. When I had the idea for the balloon launch I decided that I would contact some companies to see if they would be interested in sponsoring the event.

I contacted Iain Wilson at Tayplay and as soon as I told him what I hoped to do, without hesitation he said that they would like to pay for everything for us. I was absolutely thrilled and couldn't believe our luck, and I really want to thank Tayplay for their generosity and for making our day possible.

They have made so many children very happy (and us adults too). It was an absolutely spectacular event and we raised over £650 for Jack’s appeal and we are still selling balloons.

I have started a website for Jack that could explain things in a little more detail and there is a page dedicated to the balloon launch under the fund raising page: www.jacksappeal.wetpaint.com

Seizure - not alcohol - to blame for interruption

Dear Editor, – It was gratifying to read how much Mr Gellatly enjoyed the 59th All Scotland Accordion and Fiddle Festival here at Perth Concert Hall (Letters, November 14). There is surely no need to invent a clapping machine when audience response to the concert was so rapturous. Read
