Perth’s 10 metre rule at junctions

Dear Editor, – I read the recent story about parking at Lamberkine Drive and note with interest the comment “vehicles should not be parked within 10 metres to a junction”. I would point out that vehicles park in Church Street less than 10 metres from the corner with Feus Road and this is a busy bus route.

Also Albany Terrace has had the pavements lowered for disabled and pram users and after lowering these pavements no yellow line were replaced – we again find cars parked over these access points.

While on the subject of misuse of the public highway I do not see the point of putting up signs in the Old High Street and Murray Street saying ‘restricted access’ which is totally ignored by private vehicle drivers on a daily basis with no action being taken.
