Panto season ‘starts early’ for the Tories

Dear Editor, – Surely the pantomime season has arrived early in Perth?

This must be the only explanation for the comical song and dance the Conservatives are making over the future of the City Hall.

A garish chorus of four Tory politicians claim to have let the “City Hall” genie out of the bottle. In their fairytale imaginations these lost boys (and girls!) pretend that by believing hard enough in an anchor store…one will materialise, and wishing on a star can disappear the credit crunch. But where is their principle boy, Councillor Alexander Stewart? He’s behind you surely?

Next they’ll be suggesting that we pay to demolish the city hall, with golden goose eggs, and plant some magic beans instead. Oh yes they will…
