Marathon thanks from local runner

Dear Editor, – My daughter Fiona would like to thank all the supporters in this area who donated so generously to her charity London Marathon.

She finished in four hours nine minutes, just four minutes behind chef Gordon Ramsay, and raised more than her target of £1500 for Combat Stress.

It was a memorable occasion and highly entertaining, thanks to the wonderful variety of costumes, with everything from Wombles to a banana, all raising money for a wide range of charities.
