I’ll be back for Etape next year

Dear Editor, – I would like to thank the organisers of last Sunday’s Etape Caledonia for their hard work in running such a great event.

Also to the people of the local communities through which the race passed for turning out in their hundreds to show support.

Thanks also to the lady who gave me a spare inner tube when my second spare burst, and when that went, the guy who gave me a patch. That spirit of cooperation and friendship exemplified the day.

I’m inspired to ride for Macmillan next time and get some other friends involved, probably the opposite effect to that intended – excellent.
