MP charging taxpayers for food?

Dear Editor, – I am pleased to see that our MP has published his expense claims on the internet, beating the newspaper to it.

I was concerned to read, however, that he has been regularly claiming £200 per month for food.

Perhaps he can explain why we, the taxpayers, should pay to feed him?

I appreciate that he has to spend time away from home, but surely he has to eat wherever he is, so why should this expense fall to us?  Can he not afford to feed himself from his own healthy salary?

Please can we not have a response telling us that these claims were ‘within the rules’. That weasly excuse won’t wash.

Joe Dawson,

West Lodge, Kinloch.
