Praise for Perth and Kinross Council’s work

Dear Editor, - I have just read a letter from 'Angry of Scone' complaining bitterly about the state of the roads and the performance of Perth and Kinross Council during this period of extreme weather. He is even looking for an apology or for 'heads to roll'.

I also live in Scone and would like to redress the balance as I believe the council have done a excellent job in what has been the worst and most prolonged period of bad weather for many years.

Many side roads, including mine have been gritted regularly, the sand boxes refilled until very recently when supplies are no doubt running a bit short and even some pavements were ploughed and gritted.

Mr Angry would be even more annoyed if the council spent vast sums of money on extra supplies and equipment to use only in the few extreme winters we have had over the years.

Well done Perth and Kinross Council.
