£2,000-plus raised for British Heart Foundation

Dear Editor, – I would like to thank everyone who took part – or donated – to two recent fund-raising events for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

The first, a Santa Stroll around the North Inch in December, raised £2,000 for the charity.

The three-lap walk around the park was started by Perth SNP MP Pete Wishart and also attracted support from St Johnstone manager Derek McInnes and his players. I am also indebted to St Johnstone for allowing me to take a collection at the recent Sunday game against celtic, when a further £710 was collected.

They money will help provide more BHF nurses to support patients and families suffering from heart disease, the UK’s single biggest killer. I am indebted to everyone who gave their support.

Drew Falconer, High Street, Perth.
