Dear Editor, – I am writing to you to inform that I am infuriated that our school grounds have been damaged over the summer holidays. This has affected not just the pupils and staff of our school but also the community.
We have planned great events for the future but we can not follow through with them because our school grounds are not safe at the moment. Some of our picnic benches have been broken, there is graffiti on the doors and walls of the building and our Trim Trail has been damaged and drawn on.
Before this happened I was very proud of our Trim Trail and to be a member of my school.
We were awarded our Green Flag a year and a half ago, we have done very well and achieved a lot in the past few years.
In addition to all the recent damage there has been an ongoing litter problem. When we come back from weekends or holidays there are glass bottles on the ground and sometimes smashed glass scattered across the play ground which then makes it an unsafe place to be.
We have had a lot of help as well, Asda gave us a donation for £24,000.
We spent it on our Trim Trail and Community Garden. Riverside Church have been supporting us throughout the year.
They help us grow our plants and they have been planning some of the events for the future.
So by writing this letter I hope people will think twice about damaging our school grounds.
