Poem for blind hikers

Dear Editor, – This is a poem dedicated to the group of blind hikers, one of whom is my son Drew, and their helpers who are going to climb to Base Camp Everest.

Step to gaily as you go

Watch your feet and your big toe,

Hope the weather is not too bad

For you our brave or daft lad?

Our thoughts are with you all the way

And for all of you we will pray

From this side of the earth

Till you are all home again in Perth.
