Age concern about MOT health check

Dear Editor, – The new MOT health checks are very welcome, but why just for the age group 40–74? Do the people organising this not realise that people do get illness outwith this age group? This should be for everyone and should be a requirement.

I have recently suffered a stroke and if I was in the system of having an MOT health check my high blood pressure would have been picked up and maybe now I would not be on drugs for life.
