Liz Smith keeps PKC ‘on its toes’

Dear Editor, – Having read the article ‘MSP’s Perthshire potholes gaffe’ of February 18, I felt some sympathy for Tory MSP Liz Smith.

The fact is, whether an Audit Scotland report tells us it or not, the state of the roads in Perthshire are a disgrace and it is particularly galling that an unelected bureaucrat has nothing better to do than attack an elected representative who is raising concerns which are expressed by many of her constituents.

I live in a very remote part of the constituency where PKC’s response to the snow at the end of last year and their subsequent action on road repair has been lamentable.

I never voted Conservative at the last election but the way in which Liz Smith is keeping this shambles of a council on its toes – I need not remind readers of this paper about the incinerator or the state of the town centre – is reason enough for me.

She should be congratulated for raising constituent concerns and on her hard work in the constituency.
