Dear Editor, – On July 13 a 5pm I witnessed one of the town’s parking attendants book a car outside M&S in the loading bay.
No person was in the driver’s seat, but there was an elderly lay in the passenger seat.
Obviously there was a reason for the ticket to be produced, maybe a couple of minutes past the time allowed or maybe a wheel over the line by 20–30 cms? What I hope never happened was that the lady got distressed because of this action.
In my job, as a professional taxi driver, I encounter similar escapades. Maybe it’s time for the wardens to back off, think and then come and join the rest of us in “the game of life”.
