Clearing drains should be a priority

Dear Editor, – I do not agree with the demolition of the City Hall and am sure that if it was in private ownership the council would be the first to object to such an act.

I have just finished looking through the 208 page 2011 Colliers International Report relating to the City Hall which is available on the council’s web site. On page 109 under the heading “31 Miscellaneous” I am shocked to discover that £200,000 has been allocated for the fountains and £145,000 for the moving of the War Memorial. This sort of money could be much better spent at the moment – clearing drains would be an idea.
