BOTH PKC and WRVS have taken me to task over a story I ran in last week’s PA suggesting that their new frozen meals plan might include a £2 levy for microwaves for some users.
I’ll give you that our headline was a tad “speculative” – but let’s face it, since neither body is interested in sharing the nuts and bolts of their hugely unpopular masterplan with the public, you can’t blame a girl for speculating ever so slightly.
Both have gone to great lengths to criticise the PA for quoting “an insider” and repeating “rumours”, while neatly sidestepping the crux of the matter – the £2 levy.
I suspect PA readers – like me – will draw their own conclusions on that one.
For the record I’m also somewhat bemused by the WRVS complaint that we didn’t approach them for a quote (see today’s letter)...particularly when they then go on to say that they don’t comment on rumours. Makes you wonder what they will comment on!
