Robbie murder accused is remanded

A COUPAR Angus man appeared in private at Perth Sheriff Court on Friday afternoon, charged with murdering a 17-year-old local youth.

David Barker (23), previously of Japp Square, is alleged to have struck Robbie Thomson with a knife at the Coupar Burn, in the town, on March 26.

The charge also alleges that Barker robbed the teenager of two mobile phones and a sim card.

Barker made no plea and his case was continued for further inquiries. He was remanded in custody.

He is set to make a further court appearance on Thursday.
