RELEASED in 3D, Up is the tenth instalment from Pixar and arguably its best film to date.
It’s a stunning adventure, portrayed through an array of vibrant colours, images, and unique attention to detail.
Fed up of constantly being harassed to sell his house to a developer and determined to hold onto 78 years’ worth of memories, grumpy old Carl Fredricksen (Edward Asner) decides to pack up home and take off.
Having tied thousands of helium balloons to his chimney, Carl’s home-made aircraft steers him to a life-long destination, Paradise Falls.
But Carl is not alone. An over-enthusiastic eight-year-old boy-scout Russell (JordanNagai), has managed to climb aboard in a bid to achieve his final badge for assisting the elderly.
As they travel to land the house at the Falls - a promise Carl made to his late wife - the pair meet a talking dog, a rare exotic oversized bird and a challenging villain.
The characters within this adventure comedy are a perfect interpretation of reality. Even the talking dogs say exactly what you would imagine your own brainless pet to be thinking.
But this sophisticated 3D experience needs no cheap gimmicks to wow the crowd. Instead we are provided with an extension of reality, a window into the characters’ world.
Perfect for all ages, Up will continue to live up to the hype for years to come.
