Living the dream in a car he aims to win

A FORMER Black Watch soldier plans to spend next week cooped-up in a car with SIX other people in a bid to win first prize in a wacky competition.

Kenny Keir (32), from Scone, is taking part Radio Tay’s “Live in it to win it” competition.

The station hand-picked six contestants for the challenge after viewing Big Brother-style audition videos posted on the internet.

Listeners will be asked to vote for their favourite online. The winner will then have to stay in the car and negotiate a series of surprise tasks to claim the Skoda Roomster, donated by Norman Fairweather, as their prize.

Kenny, now a salesman for a tile company, told the PA that the up-coming stint in the Skoda holds little fear for him.

“I’ve been looking forward to it for ages, but not being able to smoke or listen to music will probably be the biggest things I’m going to miss.

“I was in the Black Watch for five years – I went Belize, Kenya, Hong Kong and Northern Ireland – so I’m sure my army background will definitely help me.

“I’m used to living in small spaces and I’ll hopefully be more disciplined than anyone else.

“I want to get the most votes because, obviously, I want to win the car,” he said.

Kenny and the other contestants will be in Dundee’s Wellgate shopping centre tomorrow afternoon and until the competition ends on October 11.
