A CHARITY ball in the Fair City will raise money for Myeloma UK.
Organised by Vortex Function Band it’s on Sunday, June 26, at the Salutation Hotel.
Among the attractions are a photographer, a chocolate fountain and comedian Wee Mac.
Myeloma is an incurable cancer of the bone marrow affecting between 15,000-20,000 people in the UK.
Speaking about the forthcoming event, Vortex keyboard player Dave, said: “We have raised money for other charity events throughout the last couple of years and they have been very successful.
“Just recently my gran was diagnosed with this form of cancer which up until then I had not heard of.
“Our aim on the night is not only to raise money for a good cause but also to have fun and help raise awareness.”
Myeloma generally affects those over 60, however younger people are now being diagnosed.
Eric Low, Chief Executive of Myeloma UK said: “We rely heavily on voluntary donations so we really appreciate the fundraising efforts of our supporters like Vortex.
