SCOTTISH TV and radio personality Stuart Cosgrove will be among the audience at Perth Film Society’s first festival.
Several classic films – including 1960’s La Dolce Vita – will be on screen in the Norie-Miller Studio in the Fair City’s concert hall between April 23 and 25.
The popular presenter is also set to give a talk during the three-day showpiece.
Several budding directors from Breadalbane Academy will be given the opportunity to exhibit short pieces they’ve made as part of a class project.
Set to be opened by Perth and Kinross Provost John Hulbert, society member Donald McCrae said the “cities on film” theme was devised as part of Perth’s 800th anniversary celebrations.
He told the PA: “We were approached by the committee behind the Perth 800 celebrations to do something.
“Around 50 people come to our regular film nights in Perth Concert Hall and we want to make this bigger and better.
“Because of Perth’s campaign for city status we wanted to show films where the location plays a key role. For example, New Town Killers – which is probably the main film on Saturday – is set in Edinburgh,” he said.
Tickets are available from Perth Concert Hall’s box office.
