Singers set for Baronial Birnam stage

A CONCERT by Birnam-based singing group Justsingin’ and Friends takes place on Friday, May 30, at 7.30pm in the Baronial Hall of the Birnam House Hotel.

Everyone is invited to come along and celebrate Justsingin’s fifth anniversary in the company of Sinsheen and Rod Paterson.

Sinsheen is a harmony vocal duo of Christine Kydd and another leading exponent of Scottish ballad and song, Barbara Dymock. Between them they have performed as members of such well-known folk groups as Calluna, Palaver, Ceolbeg and Chantan and have a reputation for originality, virtuosity, rich harmonies and lively performances.

Rod Paterson, a celebrated performer of traditional song, is often hailed as one of the finest Scottish folk singers of his generation. A member of several bands including The Easy Club and currently Jock Tamson’s Bairns, Rod is an accomplished guitarist who is especially well known for his expressive interpretations of the songs of Robert Burns.
