Runrig at Palace

SCOTLAND’S premier Celtic rock band, Runrig, have announced that they will play live in the parklands of Scone Palace on August 29, 2009, as part of the nation-wide Homecoming Scotland celebrations.

The concert, which is subject to licence, will see the band take to the stage in what will be one of the biggest open-air concerts of the year in Perthshire.

Steve Cullen, Runrig’s business manager, band said: “This is a show we’re really excited about. Scone is one of the most prestigious venues in Scotland and offers us a tremendous, centrally-located venue with all the infrastructure we need for a concert of this size.”

Elspeth Bruce, administrator at Scone Palace, commented: “We’re extremely pleased that Scone, which has played such a significant role in Scottish history, can host an important part of the Homecoming celebrations. Runrig have fans from all over the world and we hope many of them will come ‘home’ to see them live at Scone.”
