Nazareth at night

FINAL preparations are being made for one of the biggest musical charity nights ever held in Perth.

Scottish rock legends Nazareth will be headlining at Perth Concert Hall on Friday to raise cash for the Rockin’ For Kids charity.

The heavy duty Dunfermline outfit, who are fronted by the inimitable Dan McCafferty, scored a string of hit singles and albums in the 1970s, including Love Hurts, Broken Down Angel and Bad Bad Boy.

Supporting are the Fair City’s own retro specialists, The Windows, whose frontman Athole Fleming has organised the extravaganza.

A silent auction will be held on the night, with an ultra-rare copy of a signature Les Paul presented to the Naz’s Perth-based six-stringer Jimmy Murrison up for grabs.

And the big evening event is one Athole can’t wait for.

“To have a huge band like Nazareth coming to play in Perth in support of our charity project is truly fantastic,” he said.

“Nazareth will take to the stage at 9pm after we’ve done our thing. We expect a full house for what will be a great night for rock music in Perth, and a great night for our Rockin’ For Kids charity project.”

Tickets priced £17.50 are on sale at the venue’s reception desk, and via the website www.horsecross.co.uk.
