A PERTH venue will be transformed into a rock ‘school’ for the night on Thursday.
Brennans’ Late Lounge will be hosting what is being billed by its organisers as “one of the most exiting nights on this year’s live music calendar”.
A host of bands formed by first year national music qualification students from Perth College are due to make their debut public appearances at the nightclub based in the Fair City’s Watergate.
No fewer than 10 outfits will be performing at the NQ Rock Nite in a feast of live music that kicks off at 6.30pm.
The bands, whose performances are an integral part of their course work, will be performing a wide variety of musical styles.
Each set will include a range of self-penned pieces as well as cover versions.
Perth College’s vocal tutor Julie Cleave, who helped organise the event, said she was in no doubt about the commitment of the seat of learning’s young musicians.
“If enthusiasm was all it takes, every one of these guys would be a star,” she told Music Scene yesterday.
“But there is real talent here too, and we’re very grateful to Brennans for the support they have given.
“There is a really vibrant live music scene in Perth and I know lots of people will want to come along to help support this event.”
The full line-up for the noise-fest features the following bands: Xapalm; Band Of Hats; Chuck Norris; Folk In Hell; The Mix; Volkswagon Beatles; Krate; I Snorted Jesus; Can’t Remember Their Name; and Dr Love & The Rubber Glove.
Admission to the Late Lounge on Thursday is free of charge.
