Wang Dang Delta at Pitcairngreen Inn

VERSATILE Perthshire outfit Wang Dang Delta will take to the stage at Pitcairngreen on Friday night.

The “blues and beyond” outfit return to the Almondbank area on the back of the release of their second album, Delta Road, last year.

WDD have built up a healthy following after making appearances at a host of festivals the length and breadth of Scotland.

Their members include frontman Ian McLaren, keyboard player Alan Sutherland, who co-wrote the music for Perth Theatre’s production of The Snow Queen, western swing style guitarist Pete Caban from Rancho Rebop & The Full Moon Howlers, and harmonica wizard Jim Harcus.

Gig-goers on Friday can expect a set pushing at the boundaries of blues music, comprised mainly of self-penned works but also a few classic blues and boogie tunes given the Wang Dang stamp.

Tickets for the Pitcairngreen Inn show, which starts at 8.30pm, are available from 01738 583022 or at the door on the night.

However, management are strongly advising fans to buy quickly to avoid disappointment.
