Pre-Park tour for Manics

WELSH rockers Manic Street Preachers will warm up for their long-awaited return to Music Scene territory with a short tour.

Ahead of their T in the Park comeback in July, the talented trio have confirmed a nine-date UK and Ireland outing taking in seven venues, including Glasgow’s legendary Barrowland on May 25.

Nicky Wire, James Dean Bradfield and Sean Moore have just completed their ninth album Journal For Plague Lovers, which is due for release on May 18.

Recorded at Rockfield studio in Wales with ex-Nirvana producer Steve Albini, the set is the band’s first since 1996’s classic Everything Must Go to feature lyrics left by the Manics’ missing fourth member Richey Edwards.

Returning to T in the Park after a 10-year gap, MSP will headline the King Tut’s Tent at Balado on July 11, their only UK festival date this year.

Tickets for the band’s Barrowland date are available from gigsandtours.com
