PERTH country rock favourites Southpaw are set to share a home turf bill with US roots star Rachel Harrington.
Donny McElligott and Owen Nicholson, the Fair City outfit’s guitar-playing duo, will be performing an acoustic set for fans ahead of Harrington’s up-close-and-personal show at Perth Theatre’sRedrooms on Monday night.
Hailing from Oregon, Rachel Harrington has been compared to Nashville icons Emmylou Harris and Gillian Welch.
The singer-songwriter released her major label debut album The Bootlegger’s Daughter in 2007, following it up with City Of Refuge last year.
She previously appeared in Perth at last year’s Southern Fried season.
The three-day roots extravaganza was also notable for the inclusion of Nanci Griffith, Allen Toussaint, Eddie Reader and Southpaw, whose recent work includes the Stop The Time EP.
Monday’s gig starts at 8pm.
