Plethora of punk

A BATCH of hardcore punk outfits are set to blitz a Perth pub on Thursday.

Question The Mark, Tragical History Tour and Mafafi will form a blistering bill at Mucky Mulligans in the latest live noisefest organised by the Big County’s own Make-That-A-Take Records.

Touring South Wales outfit Question The Mark have forged a reputation for gruff-yet-melodic punk in recent years and should please the ears of fans of bands such as Avail and Latterman at the Canal Street venue.

Go to www.myspace.com/questionthemark for more on the band.

Sunset Squad, meanwhile, are described by gig promoter Deeker Johnston as “belligerent east coast melodic hardcore that will rip your face off”.

Compared to the likes of Comeback Kid and Strung Out, there’s more info on SS at www.myspace.com/sunsetsquadband

Thursday’s roster is completed by Perth outfits Tragical History Tour, which is Deeker’s alter-ego, and ugly noise posse Mafafi, who bear a resemblance to Napalm Death and Spazz.

For recent sonic samples go to www.myspace.com/tragicalhistorytourmusic or www.myspace.com/mafafi

Doors at Mulligans open at 8pm.
