Show will go on

SCOTS rockers Runrig insist their massive Perthshire show will go ahead despite a health set-back for the band’s guitarist.

Six-stringer Malcolm Jones (49) entered hospital yesterday to undergo heart by-pass surgery following emergency treatment in March.

A band spokesman yesterday described the operation as “a standard preventative procedure to ensure he experiences no further recurring problems”.

“Malcolm’s doctors assure us that he will make a full and speedy recovery and will be back with us for our concerts in August,” he said.

Runrig play Scone Palace on August 29.
