Sun shines on the 205th Braco Show
THE sun shone on the Lodge Park in Braco on Saturday for the 205th Braco Show.
Run by the Ardoch Agricultural Society, this family friendly event has something for everyone to enjoy.
Walking around the show ground, spectators could view animals of all shapes and sizes, including cattle, sheep, goats, horses of varying kinds, donkeys, birds of prey and a multitude of dogs.
Every competition was well represented, a fact illustrated in the healthy grand parade and prize-giving.
Visitors to the show were also kept amused by the young farmers’ obstacle race and Land Rover pull, which were keenly contested, pipes and drums from the Sounds of Strathearn and dancing from the McMahon School of Dance, along with all of the usual trade stalls and side shows.
Commenting on this year’s event, show chairman Mike Boxer stated: “Thanks to the weather, a huge crowd of people came along to support this year’s event.
“The entries in the various sections were up on last year and the quality was of an exceptionally high standard.
“The industrial tent was also bursting at the seams.
“The friendly atmosphere of the day made all the committee’s hard efforts worthwhile and we are all now looking forward to next year.”
