Queen tribute act plays The Hanger

ONE of the hottest Queen tribute bands around at the moment are playing a new music venue – The Hangar, at Perth Aerodrome, Scone – on Friday, August 28.

Dios Salve A La Reina (Spanish for ‘God Save the Queen’) was formed in Rosario, Argentina, in 1998.

The four-piece outfit has played a number of dates throughout South America and Europe – and now Queen fans will get a chance to see them and sample their tremendous sound.

Pablo Padin is Freddie Mercury... and he doesn’t just play the role of the Queen front man – he becomes Freddie on stage.

With guitarist extraordinaire Francisco Calgaro as Brian May, Matias Albornoz in Roger Taylor’s seat behind the drum kit and Ezequiel Tibaldo as the ever-cool bassist John Deacon, the band will run through a selection of all their top hits.

The Perth date is just one of four they are playing in the UK – the others are at The Forum, Aberdeen, on August 27, Fat Sam’s, Dundee, on August 29 and the cavern in Liverpool on August 31.

There are also three other support bands appearing at the Perth gig, which starts at 8pm.
