SPACEAGE rockers Muse have dropped a hint that they could be blazing a vapour trail to the Perth area in the near future.
The stadium fillers, who are set to release their eagerly-anticipated new album The Resistance on Monday, are planning to make their mark on the gig and festival scene in 2010.
Speaking about Muse’s plans for promoting the album, brainy frontman Matt Bellamy said a host of outdoor shows were firmly on the Devon band’s radar, including a possible appearance at Scotland’s biggest music extravaganza.
“Next year, we will be doing a lot of summer stuff,” the multi-instrumentalist declared.
“I’m sure we’ll be trying to get something, maybe T in the Park or maybe something else. Maybe our own concert.”
The Starlight hit-maker, who laid down much of the new record at his home studio in Italy, turned to George Orwell’s classic novel 1984 for inspiration.
Other influences on The Resistance include opera, composer Chopin and new single Uprising has strong nods to Goldfrapp and the Doctor Who theme.
“There is definitely an ‘anything goes’ approach on the album,” Bellamy explained.
“Our dominant force is the emotions and the songwriting and the desire to express something.
“But we only go to progressive or technical moments if it is necessary for the song.”
