VERSATILE newcomers Twister will take centre stage at Perth’s Malt House this weekend.
The recently formed Fair City band are set to offer music fans their exciting mixture of floor-stomping blues rock, mellow jazz and contemporary numbers at the Princes Street venue on Sunday.
With a set list to appeal to a wide range of listeners, the four-piece’s output comprises both cover songs and original material.
Twister are led by ‘new girl on the block’ Leah Gourley, who boasts a wide vocal range and stunning voice.
The attractive frontwoman is joined by Perth-based axeman Stew Methven, who brings not only his riffs to the party but the experience of playing with the likes of The Revivals, Blues On Tap and Tracy Conover, to name but a few.
Covering bass duties is Steve Presley, son of local four-string legend Alec Presley, and although guitar is Steve’s first instrument, he’s definitely a chip off the old block.
Completing the line-up is a new boy to the Perth music scene, Jim ‘The Sticks’ Scanlon, whose drumming ranges from high energy rock to some tasty jazz brush work.
The free event at the former Stagger Inn runs from 2-5pm on Sunday.
