X-Factor stars Miss Frank to appear at Perth nightclub

A NEW posse of singing sensations are set to warm-up for the X-Factor tour with a visit to Perth this week.

In a pre-Christmas boost for local pop fans, girl group Miss Frank have been booked to perform a live set at City nightclub on Thursday.

Following in the footsteps of a string of recent visitors to the popular venue that has included fellow X-Factor stars Nikitta Angus, Journey South and The MacDonald Brothers, Miss Frank will take to the stage at North Methven Street in one of just a handful of gigs they’re playing ahead of the big X-Factor tour in the new year.

Miss Frank’s trio of female members, Shar Alexander (25), Shaniece Davis (21) and Graziella Affinita (25), all made their debuts on the mega-popular ITV competition as solo artists.

The London-based group, who formed at the series’ Bootcamp stage, had all previously sung in various different acts before finding fame on the talent show.

Hip-hop fan Graziella said the threesome decided to join forces as soon as they realised what they had let themselves in for after being rejected as solo artists by the competition’s judges.

“On the first day of Bootcamp me, Shar, and Shaniece all palled-up because we already knew each other from other auditions we'd been to outside The X Factor,” she explained yesterday.

“When they told us we had to get into groups of three we were like: “Result!”, because I don't think I could have handled walking around on my own going up to people saying: “Do you wanna be my friend?”

“I suppose we were lucky that we already knew each other a bit.”

Pop supremo Louis Walsh mentored the trio and insisted that they were “probably the best girl group we've ever had on the show” until they were voted out in the competition’s third live round.

Miss Frank won plaudits for their updated cover versions of Jackson Five favourite Who's Loving You, Whitney Houston’s All The Man That I Need and Frank Sinatra classic That's Life.

Club general manager Graham Cunningham told Music Scene he expects the sexy three-piece to “blow their fans away”.

“We are delighted to be welcoming Miss Frank to City, and continuing our relationship with X-Factor contestants,” he said.

“Not only will they be performing live but the girls will be hanging around afterwards to meet and speak to their fans.

“After witnessing The MacDonald Brothers performing live here a couple of years ago, I am in no doubt that Miss Frank will deliver a performance to blow the crowds away.”

Thursday’s event is pay-at-the-door and starts at 10.30pm.

A limited quantity of meet-and-greet tickets are also available for City's VIP room, with further details are available from the venue.
