Perth Festival’s Window Art Competition

THE organisers of Perth Festival, in conjunction with the Perthshire Advertiser, are launching a shop window competition for this year’s extravaganza, which takes place between May 22 and June 1.

It is hoped that shops and businesses will dress their windows in style for the occasion, reflecting the themes of music, dance, comedy drama and art.

Perth’s High Street will be decorated with colourful banners with designs that capture the spirit of the festival — with its colour and vitality reflecting the mix of art forms in this year’s programme.

There will be two categories – one for department stores and the other for smaller shops.

Judging will take place on the morning of Tuesday, May 20, and prizes will be tickets to festival events.

This year’s line-up includes Lesley Garrett, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Russian State Symphony Orchestra, Calvin Harris, Dara O’Briain, Richard Hawley, the Levellers, Arthur Smith, 4 Poofs and A Piano, the Magic of Dance with dancers from Strictly Come Dancing, and much more.
