Venturing right into the art of the river

PERTH Festival of the Arts, Perthshire Art Association and Perth City Centre Management are hoping for fine weather next weekend for the Art on the River.

This two-day event forms part of the Perth Festival, which opened yesterday and continues until Sunday, June 1.

Art of the River is an opportunity to browse and buy artworks and crafts on Tay Street next Saturday and Sunday.

The event – organised by Perth City Centre Management as part of Perth Art Trail – will feature original works ranging from landscapes to portraits; media such as watercolours, pastels, acrylics, oils and photography; paintings which are framed and unframed; traditional and contemporary styles and every genre in between.

There will also be a selection of craft stalls selling jewellery, bags, hand-turned wooden items and ceramics.

Art on the River will provide an ideal opportunity to meet local artists and craft workers as well.

The event runs from 10am to 5pm next Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sunday, June 1.
