WORLD renowned Scottish Celtic musicans The Battlefield Band play Perth Theatre as part of Perth Festival of the Arts tonight.
Under their banner Forward With Scotland’s Past, The Battlefield Band have been distilling their own unique version of Scottish spirit and bottling it in the world’s concert halls for more than 30 years.
They come to Perth tonight to promote their current album ‘Dookin’ which maintains the band’s enduring recipe of mixing old songs and music with a new self-penned repertoire, all played on a fusion of ancient and modern instruments – bagpipes, fiddle, synthesiser, guitar, flutes, bodhran and accordion.
The line-up includes virtuoso fiddle player Alasdair White, whose solo album An Clar Gael was the winner of the World Traditional Album category at the seventh annual Independent Music Awards in the USA.
Tonight’s concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets from the box offices at Perth Theatre and Perth Concert Hall, telephone 0845 612 6330.
