Bid to ease T in the Park traffic chaos

T IN the Park organisers Big Day Out have lodged plans which should ease the traffic flow for the 80,000 music fans heading to and from July’s three-day music festival at Balado, near Kinross.

Through their agent, Event Traffic Management Ltd, Big Day Out plan a total of 18 new and upgraded entrances and exists for cars and pedestrians off Gallowhill Road, the A91, and the B918.

Last year’s T in the Park resulted in traffic chaos over a wide area when torrential rain turned car park entrances into impassible quagmires.

This year’s sell-out event, which is headlined by REM, Rage Against the Machine and The Verve, takes place from July 11-13.
