Amy wows them all when she comes to T

IT was the moment when Amy Macdonald fulfilled her destiny.

Making the annual pilgrimage to Balado as a dedicated T in the Park camper, the young Scottish songstress harboured a quiet dream of one day playing to thousands of adoring fans on the venue’s Main Stage.

And as banners adorned with proposals of marriage billowed in the warm afternoon breeze, all Amy’s birthdays finally arrived all at once.

After her ballsy opener Poison Prince, the almost incredulous Glaswegian described her rapid rise from obscurity since playing the T Break Stage 12 months ago as “bizarre”.

Clearly proud-as-punch, appreciative Amy dedicated her perky breakthrough hit Mr Rock ‘n’ Roll to the crowd as they basked in glorious sunshine and a full-blooded performance that highlighted the 20-year-old’s potent vocals and excellent band.

Looking as fresh as a daisy even after three days spent returning to her roots in T camp, the mighty Mac launched into a lusty Barrowland Ballroom that provoked frenzied jigging among the blissful throng.

Unusually, Amy put the acoustic guitar down and showed she’s no bad mover for her latest Killers cover, the synth anthem When You Were Young, before introducing the perfect festival riposte – or “a song about getting drunk and not knowing where you’re going to sleep”, the storming This Is The Life.

The sweeping Run and the jig-tastic Let’s Start A Band, complete with classy trumpet intro, provided a rousing conclusion to a fantasy show.
