Arrests at T In Park

TWENTY people appeared at Perth Sheriff Court this week, mainly on drugs-related charges, after the weekend’s giant T in the Park music festival at Balado, near Kinross.

Dunfermline teenager Jordan Duff was fined £300 after being caught in possession of 28 ecstasy tablets near the front gate of the festival site.

The court was told that the 18-year-old was seen staggering about and when searched the tablets, valued at £84, were recovered.

A solicitor said that he had purchased the tablets shortly after he arrived at the event.

He was immediately arrested and spent the weekend in the police cells, missing out of the entertainment.

He had paid £180 for his weekend ticket.

Kevin Brannan (25),m of Wishaw, was fined £200 after he was caught with 0.7 grammes of cocaine, worth £35, at the festival.

He was arrested on July 11 and also missed the weekend event.

Edward Breen (49), of Glenrothes, denied being in possession of a lock knife at the Slam Tent at T in the Park.

He will stand trial on September 30. A preliminary hearing will take place on September 18. He was freed on bail.

Alloa man Dylan Smith (20) will face trial on July 29 on charges of breach of the peace, resisting arrest and police assault.

He had a preliminary hearing set for July 24. He was remanded in custody.

Five Liverpool men, one from Knotty Ash, also denied eight charges of theft, allegedly committed at the campsite.

The stolen items included mobile phones, clothing, T in the Park tickets, a handbag, purses, an MP3 player and wrist watch.

One of them was also charged with giving police a false name and address.
