Home Entertainment Perthshire T in the Park

Early T-time

A PRE-CHRISTMAS sale of T in the Park tickets is expected to spark a frantic scramble among music fans.

In a surprise move, organisers of the phenomenally popular Balado event will give festival-goers a final chance to buy tickets for next year’s event at pegged prices later this month.

A further batch of tickets is also to be made available in the new year, when T in the Park is expected to start naming artists who will be playing in Kinross-shire.

Festival director Geoff Ellis yesterday thanked festival-goers for their positive feedback following July’s event, which featured REM, Rage Against The Machine and Amy Winehouse.

“This was our 15th year and was our biggest and best to date, but we are, as ever striving to make 2009 even better,” he said.

“Plans for next year’s line-up are well underway and we can assure T in the Parkers they won’t be disappointed when we begin our artist revelations.”

The 80,000-capacity festival has received a string of accolades in recent weeks, including event grand prix, best large event and the green award at the inaugural Scottish Event Awards, the 4Music festival-of-the-year award at the Vodafone Live Music Awards and the best line-up category in the UK Festival Awards.

Limited numbers of tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday, November 28, through www.tinthepark.com or Ticketmaster on 08444 999 990 or via www.ticketmaster.co.uk

Prices are £137 (Saturday and Sunday) and £160 (all-weekend access), with car parking and camping upgrades also available.
