INDUSTRIAL legends NINE INCH NAILS were yesterday confirmed as the latest big-name addition to this year’s T in the Park line-up.
And it was revealed that Trent Reznor and his Ohio-based shock-rock troupe will be joined on the Balado bill by fellow US alt-rock pioneers JANE’S ADDICTION, Scottish sensations GLASVEGAS and THE VIEW, electro veterans THE PET SHOP BOYS, Grammy-nominated LADY GAGA, garage noisemeisters EAGLES OF DEATH METAL and London songsmith GARY GO.
Head Like A Hole hit-makers Nine Inch Nails, who are marking their 20th anniversary by storming the global live circuit, will be joined on the event’s Saturday Radio 1/NME Stage by a reformed Jane’s Addiction.
Fronted by Perry Farrell, the California outfit will be performing again with their classic Eighties line-up for the first time in 17 years.
One of the most popular acts at last year’s T in the Park, fans surrounded the full-to-capacity Future’s Stage to hear Glasgow-based rockers Glasvegas deliver their emotive set.
This year, they’ll be co-headlining the festival’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Tent on July 11 alongside Welsh wizards Manic Street Preachers.
Legendary duo Pet Shop Boys will close the King Tut’s Wah Wah Tent on July 12 with a set comprising classic electropop and synth stylings from their career spanning over 30 years and 50 million album sales worldwide.
Speaking exclusively about their appearance, PSB frontman Neil Tennant said yesterday: "We are really looking forward to playing our first festival in Scotland.
"Unbelievably, it's six years since we last played a concert in Scotland so this is going to be special."
Ultra glam, Queen-inspired Lady GaGa will grace T in the Park’s Saturday after making the big break-through with her number one hit Just Dance.
She has written songs for the likes of The Pussycat Dolls and took to the stage at the recent Brit Awards for a collaboration with Pet Shop Boys and Killers frontman Brandon Flowers.
Dundee’s favourite sons,The View will headline the King Tut’s Tent on Friday, July 10, performing anthems from their debut album Hats Off To The Buskers and the follow-up Which Bitch?
Meanwhile, Queens Of The Stone Age leader Josh Homme will bring his uber successful side project Eagles Of Death Metal to Balado’s Radio 1/NME Stage on the Sunday.
Making his second consecutive appearance at T in the Park, Gary Go’s debut single Wonderful has been dominating airwaves since its release last month and he’ll be supporting Take That on their impending stadium tour.
