Help keep T in Park green

ORGANISERS reckon T in the Park has to be one of the planet’s greenest festivals.

Three years ago, the event was first recognised as the largest CarbonNeutral event of its kind in the world.

Following that accolade, in 2008 it became the only UK festival to receive both the Yourope (European Festival Association) Green ‘n’ Clean award and a Greener Festival accolade at the UK Festival Awards.

Rightly then, T in the Parkers are being reminded to respect the site this weekend and to opt for durable, quality camping gear that can be re-used and not left behind to become landfill.

Recycling points are also available throughout the Balado venue, with over 60% of all waste expected to be reprocessed.

With T in the Park lying so close to Loch Leven, a designated Site of Specific Scientific Interest, strict rules about waste water apply during the event.

Staff ensure that none is poured on the ground and there are multiple ‘grey water’ collection points around the site which are emptied safely and securely each day.
