PERTH Drama Club held its AGM where a new committee was elected and the details of a successful year were shared with all.
The committee expressed a big “thank you” to all Perth Drama Club’s supporters over the last year for making it one of the best years in terms of productions for some time.
Three full-length plays were staged throughout the year: ‘Hard Times’ by Charles Dickens, and two runs of ‘The Steamie’ by Tony Roper, one for the Perth audiences which was a sell-out success and another in Dundee’s Whitehall Theatre where the actors experienced audiences in excess of 500 per night to great acclaim.
The club held auditions this week for a forthcoming production at Perth Theatre which depicts the life and times of the late great Perth poet, William Soutar.
Perth Drama Club will be hosting their own ‘Open Night’ at 7.30 pm on Thursday, June 19, where all members of the public are welcome,
There are plans for a new comedy called ‘Sir Arthur Saville’s Crime’ and a Variety Show. They are also planning to take on a mini tour of the outlying villages during the festive season.
The open night is in the club rooms at 31 High Street, which is along the lane beside Campus Sports.
