THE Atholl Players are bringing Dick Barton, Special Agent to Pitlochry Festival Theatre for three performances at the end of November.
“This is a hilarious spoof on the detective series which those of a certain age will remember listening to on the wireless,” says the Players’ Iain McEwan.
“Those who can’t remember it, or claim they can’t, need not worry. The play is a modern spoof, published in 1999, which sends up the class conscious, stiff upper lip, stereotypes of the original in a thoroughly modern style.
“The play contains a considerable amount of singing and the club have been delighted to enlist the help and advice of local music maestro John Scrimger.”
There will be an evening performance on Friday, November 28, at 7.30pm and matinee and evening performances on November 29 at 2pm and 7.30pm.
Tickets are £10 (concessions £8), available now from the theatre box-office, telephone 01796 484626 or online at www.pitlochry.org.uk
