Tales of the unexpected

LOCAL stars of the stage will be performing in Highland Perthshire until tomorrow night with tales of the strange, sinister and supernatural.

Actors Martyn James and Helen Logan will be at Pitlochry Festival Theatre to perform dramatised readings in Fearie Tales, a free event which started last night, as part of the Winter Words festival.

From 9.30pm onwards on Friday and Saturday night in the informal surroundings of the Festival Bar, they will perform a selection of pieces.

Whether simply recounting odd and unusual incidents or describing ghostly and chilling goings on. From ancient hauntings of old legends of phantoms, wraiths and bogles to more contemporary accounts of ‘disturbances in the ether’ and the strangest of coincidences.

The organisers of the Winter Words Festival are also running a Fearie Tales writing competition for budding writers. More details are available at www.pitlochry.org.uk
