AN ACCLAIMED international musician is set to kick-start the new year in style for the Muthill Acoustic Music Appreciation Society.
Blues guitarist Kent Duchaine, voted among the nation’s top five live acts, is set to take to the stage at the Crieff Hotel on Monday when the MAMAS season starts.
Now renowned for his contagious commitment, enthusiasm and love of the blues, Kent Duchaine got his first electric guitar at just 13 and formed a band in his home town of Wayzata, Minnesota.
He became hooked on Delta Blues and from 1969 played with big blues names Bukka White, Albert Collins, John Lee Hooker and Howling Wolf until he found his own niche.
Going solo in 1982 Kent has since toured the world entertaining audiences with his easy-going charisma and exceptional slide-guitar playing. He is renowned as not just a bluesman, but a genuine entertainer.
