PERTH and Kinross youngsters who are piano pupils of Maureen Rutherford recently competed in the 26th Highlands and Islands Music and Dance Festival in Oban where they achieved the following results:

Piano Solo (Pre Grade1): 1 Mhairi Sloan, 2 Clare Faherty, both Perth. Piano Solo (Grade1): 1 Callum Mitchell, 2 John Sloan, both Perth; Piano Solo (Grade 2): 1 Liam Bonthrone, Perth, 2 Robert Cameron, Bankfoot; Piano Solo (Grade 3): 1 Ruth Faherty, 2 Emily Fulton, both Perth; Piano Solo (Grade 4): 1 Hayley Litster, Perth; Piano Duet (grade 1/2): 1 John and Mhairi Sloan, Perth; Piano Duet (Grades 3/4/5): 1 Alison and Emily Fulton, Perth.

“All players are pupils of schools in Perth and Kinross and are testament to the success of the Instrumental Music Service of Perth and Kinross Council,” said Maureen.
