THE first in a series of free lectures based on the French Connections exhibition at Perth Museum and Art Gallery is tomorrow at noon.
The three lectures give visitors have the opportunity to further explore various themes associated with French and Scottish art, starting with ‘Van Gogh’s Scottish Twin The Glasgow Art Dealer Alexander Reid’ given by Frances Fowle from the National Gallery of Scotland and the University of Edinburgh.
Next Wednesday (June 17) Anne Dulau of the Hunterian Art Gallery in Glasgow gives a lecture about Hunter and his collections of French art, looking at key works in the Hunterian including works by Chardin.
Rounding the series off is Roger Billcliffe on July 1 with a lecture on The Glasgow Boys. Roger is a well-known art historian who has written a definitive book on The Glasgow Boys and also runs The Billcliffe Gallery.
Each of the lectures begin at noon. All are free.
