Gig is chance to join Donnie on his American song journey

FORMER Runrig frontman, Donnie Munro, and his band, will perform as part of their national ‘An Turas’ tour at Pitlochry Festival Theatre on Sunday at 8pm.

Donnie explains that his own song ‘Heart of America’ – a song which emerged while he was travelling across the USA at the height of the Iraq war – was the inspiration, the catalyst even, for the idea behind this show. This theme of movement, emigration and journey is carried through the set list, using many different ideas and situations. Donnie and the six-piece band perform a mixture of songs from Donnie’s own catalogue, along with songs from the Runrig years, traditional songs and more recent collaborations.
